Program Description:

This program is the entry level for beginners who are 3-5 years of age.  Children are placed into groups according to ability and taught by Skate Canada Professional coaches and assisted by qualified Program Assistants.  The focus of this program is to make skating fun!  Skating skills taught range from learning to stand and balance to going forwards and backwards.

Program Description:

This program is an extension of the CanSkate program that builds on fundamentals learned in CanSkate.  It is designd to develop a child's figure skating skills to allow them to progress into a more advanced STARSkate program.  Through a group lesson format, the program introduces skaters to the Skate Canada STARSkate program which encompasses the disciplines of stroking, skills, dance and freeskate.  Skills taught at this level include edges, turns, jumps, spins and dance.

IMPORTANT:  Skaters must have passed Stage 5 of CanSkate to register.

This is Skate Canada's flagship learn-to-skate program, designed for beginners 4 and older.  This program is beneficial to any skater with an interest in ice sports (figure skating, hockey, ringette).  Skaters are placed in groups according to ability and taught by Skate Canada Professional coaches and qualified Program Assistants.  Skaters earn badges as they learn the fundamental skating skills (forwards and backwards skating, stopping, turning, etc.).  Formal written evaluation is provided.

IMPORTANT:  CSA approved hockey helmets are required.
